Privacy Policy

WatchAndCook has no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party trackers. We collect what the app needs to work and nothing else. This page lists all of it.
What we collect
- A Sign in with Apple identifier. When you sign in, Apple gives us an opaque subject identifier for your account. We ask Apple for no other scopes, so we never receive your name or your email address. We store the identifier to recognise you across devices.
- A device identifier, if you do not sign in. Guests get a random UUID generated on the device and kept in the iOS Keychain. It is not derived from your hardware and is not shared with anyone. Its only purpose is to count your daily extractions.
- The recipes you save. If you are signed in, your saved list is stored on our server so it follows you between devices. If you are a guest, it stays in a file on your device and is never sent anywhere until you choose to sign in.
- Your extraction history. The date and video of each extraction, used to enforce the daily limit. Failed extractions are recorded too so that we never charge you for one.
- The description and captions of videos you extract. Cached so that the same video is never processed twice — this is what keeps the app free to run. This is public content published by the video's creator, not anything about you.
What we do not do
- No analytics or usage tracking of any kind.
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone for their own purposes.
- No access to your location, contacts, photos, camera, or microphone. The app never asks, because it never needs them.
- No accounts for children; see below.
Third-party services
The app talks to four services. None of them receives your Apple identifier, your device identifier, or your saved list — they only ever see the public video being processed.

Cloudflare, as the host, also processes ordinary network information such as the IP address your request arrives from. We do not log IP addresses ourselves and do not store them in our database.
Keeping and deleting your data
Saved recipes and your account identifier are kept until you ask us to delete them. Cached video descriptions and captions are kept as long as the recipe is cached, because re-fetching them would mean paying to read the same public page again; they contain nothing about you.
You can delete your account from inside the app: My recipes → the account button in the top right → Delete account. Your account identifier and your saved list are removed from our server straight away. It cannot be undone.
Two things survive that deletion, and neither points back at you. Your extraction history is kept but detached — the rows stay so that deleting and recreating an account is not a way to reset the daily limit, but they are no longer connected to any account. And the cached descriptions and captions stay, because they are the video creator's public words, not yours.
If you have never signed in, there is nothing on our server to delete: removing the app takes your saved recipes with it, because they were only ever on your device.
Children
WatchAndCook is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. We will not start collecting something new without saying so here first.
